138 - 16|03|10 Crab Island In the center of the room, Crab Island exposes a community of crabs being contained within a standardized house. A cruciform tower support a total of 24 identical aquariums stack on 6 stories high and inhabited by 100 sea crabs. A decreasing density from top to bottom inverse the traditional logic of luxury. A mixed image of the viewers and the crabs are both reflected from within the glass wall and a reflective corner joint. The space of the aquarium is projected out onto the gallery’s walls with the multiple fluid shadows of the crabs in movement.
