Platform Paradise is an art project curated by Maurizio Bortolotti for the Foundation for Achieving Seamless Territories (F.A.S.T.), based in Amsterdam. It is designed as a show in an urban settlement, the Palestinian village of Ein Hawd, 30 km far from Hajfa, that for more than 50 years was unrecognized by the official Israeli government which finally recognized it in 2004. The project will be opened from September 1st to 8th, 2008 and the pieces will be shown in the village till November 1st, 2008.

The Third Landscape is inspired in part by the recent global economical movement, displacing large masses of workers to produce elsewhere, first in their country, then abroad. These movements create new interrelation among plants, animals and humans, and become a subversive way to colonise a place in different way.

Within the complex reality of the politics of the land, we have decided to start this project by working against Nature. We will bring a collection of 20 kind of seeds from China and plant a variety of 1 square meter vegetable garden in different part of the village of Ein Hawd. After one month, long beans, pak choi, water melon, papaya, chilli pepper will compose a special diner for the opening of the show 07.09.08.
