Homes For China/Homes for America, Workshop with Clover Lee’s students from Rice University School of Architecture on Multi-Scalar Housing Developments in Hong Kong.

Starting with Dan Graham’s famous project on the American suburbia, we presented our research reflecting the trends in patterns of real estate in both countries. In the USA the enduring dream of a house of one's own increasingly turns the landscape into a uniform carpet of low density residences. Contrary to this, apartment skyscrapers for two thousand residents arise at breathtaking speed in Hong Kong. Unfolding the mechanism of the system, we discussed how here, maximum density could become a dream.
